Loose Parts Play has arrived at Broughton!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the PSA fundraising events last year.

The money raised has allowed us to introduce Loose Parts Play into the playground and provide training for staff. As you can see from the photographs the children are enjoying being creative and imaginative playing with the equipment.

We now look forward to the delivery of the container to store more equipment in!

Each class has been organised a play date for using Loose Parts in May, to which parents and carers are invited!

Please visit your child(ren)’s class page(s) in the ‘Class Information’ section of the website to access these invitations.

Enjoy!

Edinburgh Marathon

Edinburgh Marathon

On Saturday 28th May, 64 children from Broughton Primary are taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon junior races.

Pupils from P1-P7 are running to raise money for ongoing playground improvements. This year we want to buy new picnic benches and loose parts play equipment AND continue the culture fund.

Team BPS have all been training hard and can’t wait to represent the school. Please show your support by donating and sharing our story with family and friends. Follow the link below-

Summer Fair flyer 2016

The Summer Fair is always a very successful fund raising event, but wouldn’t be possible without the fantastic support of our amazing volunteers. We are still looking for volunteers to support this year’s event, so please contact the PSA if you can help in any way!

School Lottery

If you haven’t yet joined our school lottery, but have been thinking about it, now’s the time! There’s an iPad up for grabs, with all new supporters being entered in to the draw to be in with a chance of winning.

To date our 36 supporters have raised £390.40 for PSA funds, and by the end of the year that figure is a predicted £1,144. All that money will be put towards continuing our cultural fund which has been providing extra curricular activities for all year groups.

Last term our Junior Road Safety Officers invited our pupils to take part in a city wide Road Safety competition, to create a new design to encourage motorists to observe 20mph speed limits. One entry was picked from each year group, and these entries have been entered into the city wide competition, with a chance to win fantastic prizes! These are the year group winners-

P4- Roisin Bagnall-McCrink

P5- Harris Archibald

P6- Alesha Nicholson
