About Our School
The school is centred on the community of Broughton, just north of Edinburgh city centre. Our catchment area is widespread and stretches from Princes Street in the south to Warriston in the north. There is a rich social and cultural mix of pupils within the school. Currently around 25% of pupils attend from outwith the catchment area as a result of placing requests. The school roll is 365 (December 2015), organised into 14 mainstream classes and two language classes for pupils with additional support needs. The nursery provides a total of 100 part- time places, 50 each morning and 50 each afternoon.
At present the teaching staff consists of Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher, two Principal Teachers, 20 class teachers, nursery teachers and Support for Learning teacher. In addition there are visiting teachers of Art, P.E.and swimming, and cello and brass instructors. Support staff include 2 administration assistants, business manager, service support officer, a team of learning assistants and nursery nurses.
