146285-Happy-Friday

Hello everyone, and a happy Friday to you all!

We just wanted to say well done to everyone for another week of brilliant home learning! We’re so proud and impressed with all the work being completed and sent back to us- please keep it up, we love to see how you are doing.

We also love when you share other examples of your school and home learning with us on Teams. Don’t forget to let us know if you’d like any successful learning included in our Big Book of Achievement!

Our assembly for this week has now been shared on this website and through Teams. We hope you enjoy it, and remember to share your answer to the Question of the Day with us. Here is the YouTube link if you want to watch- https://youtu.be/G4iUuoUTQdc

As mentioned last week, we have added an area to our website for ‘Expressive Arts’, where you can find some home learning activities for Art, P.E. and Music. Give it a look if you are feeling creative! You can find it by clicking on this link https://broughtonprimary.org/expressive-arts-2/

We are also steadily uploading some activities to the ‘Stuck at Home’ section of our website. This is where you can find help if you need support with Teams, and a range of extra home learning ideas. It’s still being updated, but there is some content there if you are looking for a few extra ideas! Click on this link to visit- https://broughtonprimary.org/stuck-at-home/

There’s just one more week of home learning until our mid-term break. You can look forward to lots more home learning challenges next week!

Have a lovely weekend, and stay safe everybody!

Tuesday 19th January

Good afternoon everyone, and happy Tuesday to you all!

We hope you’re enjoying today’s home learning tasks, and have managed to get some of them done. We’re determined to get as many of our pupils engaging with Teams as we possibly can, and have been making contact with lots of our families to check that they are managing to access learning ok. Remember, if you have any problems you can access the Support Materials in our ‘Stuck at Home’ area of the school website, or you can contact the school via class teachers or our admin email address.

Mrs Bertram has another lovely P.E. activity to share- P3- 7 should see it appear in their Team, but our younger children might like to give it a go too. You can click below to see what to do…

PE Activity- What’s Your Name

We’d also like to share an exciting opportunity passed on to us from Drummond High School. It’s a competition for children aged 8-14, so if  you fit that age bracket you might be interested.

The RSE Young Academy of Scotland has launched their Children’s Voice Competition, which asks children living in Scotland to share their vision for our world.  Further details are set out in the attached poster – the competition asks children to capture their vision for the world in a digital poster or short animation clip.  Every poster submitted will be published in an online exhibition and there are also book token prizes available for the best entries.

The deadline for entries is 15 February 2021. See the poster below for more information.

Friday 15th January

Good afternoon everyone! It’s Friday!

We hope you have enjoyed your first week of home learning of 2021. The staff have certainly enjoyed seeing examples of your completed tasks, so keep up the good work for next week and beyond!

We’re happy to say that around 77% of our school have logged on to Microsoft Teams this week! This is very positive, but there’s also room for improvement, so let’s try to beat that by next Friday.

We will be sending out a ‘Remote Learning Guide’ for parents and carers next week, which we hope will give useful advice and might answer some questions you may have about your home learning.

Can we also remind you that there are a number of learning packs still to be collected. If you were unable to collect yours, please just contact the school admin email address to arrange a time for collection.

Here’s a nice learning link- Dynamic Earth have compiled some home learning resources you may find interesting, Follow the link to find out more…https://www.dynamicearthonline.co.uk/

We wish you all a very happy and safe weekend! Stay safe!

Monday 11th January

Hello everyone,

Happy New Year to you all. We hope you have been able to try some of your home learning today. There were some problems accessing Microsoft Teams across the whole country this morning, so hopefully things are working a bit more smoothly now!

Remember that your home learning will also be shared to your class page on the website. For step by step instructions and videos to give support using Teams, follow this link to our ‘Stuck at Home’ support materials page- https://broughtonprimary.org/support-materials/

If you are struggling to submit work through Teams, and want to send a copy of your work to your teacher via email, did you know that if you have an Iphone or Ipad you actually have a scanner?

If you want to scan any work to your teacher, here’s how you can do it-

  1. Open the ‘Notes’ App.
  2. Press the camera button.
  3. You should see the option to ‘Scan’

Once the document is scanned you can email it easier than a photo, plus you can add notes to the scanned document.

You can follow this link to view the BBC Bitesize page, with extra ideas for learning during this period of home learning. Follow this link to find it- https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize

Follow this link to find out about how lockdown learning will be available through CBBC and Iplayer-

Did you know you can access Microsoft Teams through a games console? Our Twitter feed has a document giving you instructions how to access Teams using an XBox or Playstation.

That’s all for today folks. We hope you are all doing ok, and hopefully it won’t be too long before we can see you in school again. Keep going, we’ve done it before, and we’ll do it again!

Stay safe!
