Happy Holidays!

Well, it’s finally here, the last day of term!

It’s been another challenging year for us all, but we have all worked together to try to provide safety, security and comfort to each other, as new challenges were faced.

To our P7 pupils- we have been so proud of all you have managed to achieve this year, and your new high schools are lucky to have such talented, hard-working and creative young people starting after the holiday! We’re sorry your year hasn’t ended as we expected it to, but are glad you got to celebrate together at your barbecue this week- we will miss you all very much, and wish you all the very best for the future!

In the absence of an end of term assembly, we weren’t able today to share our end of year House Points totals.

So, it’s a huge well done to…Trinity house! You have won the house shield this year! Here are the final totals-

1st Trinity- 10744 pts

2nd Pilrig–  10036 pts

3rd McDonald– 9939 pts

4th Drummond- 9688 pts

We hope you all have a safe, restful summer break. We really are a brilliant team- from our wonderful children, to our fantastic staff team and supportive parents and carers. Take care, let’s hope we have lots of sunshine, and we look forward to seeing you all again on Wednesday 18th August! Happy holidays everyone!

P7 BBQ

BBQ

Last night we were able to hold our P7 Leavers’ Barbecue over in our Botanical Broughton green space.

Mrs Rushforth was head chef, and there was plenty of yummy food and drinks for all. Our P7s had a lovely time eating and drinking, chatting, playing games and chilling out in their respective bubbles!

We feel very lucky to have been able to have an event like this, given the unusual year we have all had- we hope our P7s enjoyed this chance to spend some quality time with their friends.

Here are some photos we took last night-

P7 Epic Day

Last Thursday our P7 pupils attended an ‘Epic Day’ of outdoor adventure activities at Bonaly Scout Camp. P7 missed out on their annual excursion to Lagganlia this year, so this day was offered as a substitute for that.

We had lovely weather, and across the stage the children had the chance to take part in a range of activities- from a walk up the stream, to climbing wall, to a trek in the Pentlands, a bonfire and more. Our children were a credit to the school, and took part with enthusiasm, effort and great teamwork. Well done P7!

Although not the same as a week at Lagganlia, we agreed that the day was a big success, and we were all (staff included) a bit weary and achy on Friday!

Here are some pictures and clips from the day.

Sports and Marathon Event

sports-dayEdinburgh Marathon

We held our combined Sports Day/Edinburgh Marathon event on Friday 28th May. This would have been the Edinburgh Marathon festival weekend, so we decided to set up a Sports Day event that would also include an opportunity for everyone who had registered for EMF to get their run completed too. All the children took part in a run, and showed great effort in running lots of laps of the pitch! Thankfully the sun shone for us too, so we all had a lovely morning.

Here are some photos of the event!
