Playground Tidy and Treasure Hunt

FAB (Friends at Broughton) will be having a Playground Tidy and Treasure Hunt event on Sunday 6 November at 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

We plan to sweep leaves from the corners, pick up litter blown in, weed the raised beds and generally get the playground ready for Winter. We will also weed the passage from Bellevue Road to the Nursery entrance. Volunteer children and parents can sign up either on the Facebook page or by emailing the parent council email here. Make sure you bring clothing for the outdoor weather and any snack or hot and cold drinks you need to keep you going!

Thank you!

Tomtastic Success!

As part of the ‘Grow Strong’ project, with Edinburgh Community Food and Veg Power, some of our P3 pupils had the chance to make a delicious pasta sauce using tomatoes they had grown over the summer!

They planted seeds, then cared for their plants until they were ready to be used. They were then invited to join two master chefs to turn their produce into sauce, and of course, eat it!

You may have seen their story reported on the news, but if you missed it, here is a link to the clip-

The story was also reported in the Edinburgh reporter- follow this link to read all about it!

What an exciting learning opportunity, and so lovely to see our pupils making the headlines!

International Cafe Success!

FAB International Cafe

Our FAB International Cafe was held last Friday (30th September) in our Dining Room.

The cafe made a total of around Â£550!!  So a huge well done to all the parents and carers organisers, the pupils who helped set up and serve at the cafe.  Thank you to those donated food from over 22 countries (!!), and to all the customers, who all helped raise that fantastic amount, despite the stormy rain!

Here are some photos of the event-

Let us know what you think of the cafe by filling in this short survey, which closes 10th October.

The next FAB event in our calendar is the Halloween Disco at the end of the month – see you then!
