Here are some certificates we’ve been awarded recently.

First we have a certificate of appreciation from the Edinburgh Foodbank, thanking us for collecting 184.5kg of food donations at Harvest time! Amazing!

We were also awarded a certificate of thanks and congratulations from the NSPCC, for attentive listening and enthusiastic participation during the NSPCC assemblies and workshops last week.

Well done, and thanks, to everyone who contributed towards the school receiving these certificates!

We have had our first couple of meetings and had the chance to meet each other. We have discussed what we see our role to be in school, and that is- to be involved in making decisions on behalf of the Pupil Voice! Today, we carried out our first important job- tidy and organise the playground cupboard! The playground is going to be an area of interest for Pupil Council this year, so it’s important we know what resources we have already, before we think about what we would like to add and how we are going to organise playground activities.

The Pupil Council worked hard to remove all the items, organise them into ‘keep’, ‘bin’ or ‘keep for loose parts’, and then organise them further into containers. There’s more room in the cupboard now! Well done team!

NSPCC- Speak Out. Stay Safe.

This week we had a visit from the NSPCC to deliver their ‘Speak Out.Stay Safe.’ programme.

At assembly we met Buddy, the NSPCC mascot. We learned about different ways that people can be unsafe, and why it is important to share and ‘speak out’ to trusted adults if we feel unsafe.

P6 and P7 classes also had a workshop with our visitors, and everyone in the school was given a special sticker to remind them of the important messages we learned.

Thanks to our lovely visitors for coming to share this important learning with us!
