Cross Country Success!

Cross Country Runners

Today Mrs Ramm took a team of cross country runners to the P6-P7 event at Wardie Playing Fields.

Everyone put in a great effort, but special congratulations go to Holly Bartholomew from P6a, who placed 2nd in her race, Eilidh Noronha who came 1st out of 60 runners, and Mhairi Noronha who came 2nd in the same race!

Fantastic results! Let’s hope they can repeat their success at the next, larger event, held at Duddingston on Monday 25th March.

Well done to the whole team! You represented Broughton really well!

Leith Chooses

Leith Chooses

Vote for our project at Leith Chooses on Saturday 23rd February: Leith Community Centre, 42 New Kirkgate, Leith between 12pm-3pm.

This is to help fund a project to improve our outdoor environments where we will grow colourful crops such as peas, sweetcorn and sunflowers. The funding would be used to purchase gardening and cooking equipment, materials and storage. This project will involve our families and community members to help with planting food which we can then harvest, cook and learn about. Please spread the word to encourage friends, family, neighbours and work colleagues to vote too.

PSA International Cafe

International Cafe 2

Our PSA International Cafe was held today in our Dining Room.

The classes in school created bunting with various flags represented to decorate the room, and as always there were lots of tasty treats to be bought, with recipes from a range of diverse cultures.

The cafe made a total of around £350, so a huge well done to all the PSA and parent organisers, the pupils who helped set up and serve at the cafe, and to all the customers, who all helped raise that fantastic amount!

Now it’s up to our Pupil Council to decide how they’d like to spend the takings! Watch this space…

The next PSA event in our calendar is our Spring Disco in a month’s time, so look out for information about that soon!

thank you

Global School Play Day 2019

The annual Global School Play Day took place on Wednesday 6th February. This event aims to promote a day of unstructured free play for children around the world, and last year over 300,000 pupils took part. This year Broughton joined in the fun.

While not all classes devoted the whole day to this, across the school there were a range of ways classes were marking this event, and each stage had a slot to use Loose Parts in the playground on Wednesday.

Here are some photos of our children having fun on the day!
