Sunrise Day 2023

On Friday we held our first ‘Sunrise Day’ celebrating equality and diversity in our school.

OPEG ( Our Pupil Equalities Group) came up with this idea, and helped to plan what the day should include. They decided to name the day ‘Sunrise Day’ after their motto. ‘When the sun rises, it rises for everyone.’

Friday was such a lovely day! We had some parents and carers visiting classes to share about their country or culture. Stories, songs, presentations, hand painting, national dress and artefacts were among the many things shared. It was lovely to see so many of our pupils who came dressed in national dress too!

We also had food tasting of a range of different dishes and tasty treats, and classes had an equalities theme to learning happening in class that day.

We’d like to thank everyone who contributed to our day, either by coming in to share with a class, or by contributing some food to share! Below are some photos from the day!
