The City of Edinburgh Council Wellbeing Website

The City of Edinburgh Council has recently launched their Wellbeing webpages for Children, Young People and Families, (see link below). This brings together a variety of supports for children, young people and families around wellbeing and mental health. It’s very user friendly and has a section for under 12s. The website features a number of wellbeing films and has lots of great resources including videos, information on wellbeing apps, supports in each locality and citywide and other sources of support.

End of Term and Happy Holidays!

We had a very busy end to our school year! Our P7 pupils have been taking part in our traditional leavers’ events over the past few weeks, as they approached the end of term. They entertained the school and their families with their P7 Show, enjoyed a celebration BBQ, visited classes in school to have their P7 sweatshirts signed, held a special leavers assembly and received a special send-off from Louise, our piper! We’d like to wish all our P7s the very best wishes for happiness and success at high school! The galleries below captures some of these special memories!

Both Mrs McIntyre and Mrs Hush retired after many years at Broughton. Miss Garner, Ms Fairlie, Ms Harrison and Ms Sitaridou have moved on to pastures new, while Mrs Cormack has left to begin maternity leave! We’d like to wish them, and all the other pupils who left Broughton at the end of term, the very best for their future adventures!

Young People’s Equalities Event

Last week 3 members of OPEG- Viksha, Tiyash and Elodie, attended a Young People’s Equalities Event at the City Chambers.

Only 4 schools were invited to present at the event, and we were one of them!

Our 3 pupils were a credit to us- they were confident and clear in their presenting, and they received lots of positive feedback from other schools in attendance.

As well as presenting, the children had the chance to attend a workshop where they became ‘Councillors for the day’ and looked at ways to address use of homophobic language.

It was a lovely event, and we are so proud of our pupils for sharing so well the work of OPEG this year!

Sports Day 2024

We held our annual Sports Day this week, and the rain stayed away (mostly!) so we could all enjoy all the activities!

Thanks to Mrs Bertram for organising all the events, and our P6 helpers for their support in setting up, scoring and tidying the infant sports event!

You can see a photo gallery of Sports Day below…
