ESB have been involved in the ‘Growing to Love Tomatoes’ project.  We all have wall charts and stickers to help us watch our plants grow. At the end of term we will take our plants home and watch our tomatoes growing over the summer holidays.  We enjoyed planting the seeds and are making sure they are getting watered daily.  Hopefully we can make some nice things with our tomatoes once they are fully grown!

ESB 2 Home Learning- Friday 24th January

Lots of loose parts fun in the ESB.

ESB- Newsletter Jan 24

We have had a busy term in the ESB.  We have been learning about ‘Space’ so we made rockets and astronauts and learned some facts about the ‘Solar System’.  We enjoyed visits from ‘Fitch’ the therapet who has been visiting us for the past 5 years.
We said goodbye to Miss Bishop and she gave us lots of lovely books with CD’s for our classrooms.  It was so kind-we will miss her but wish her lots of luck for her new job!
We really enjoyed visiting the ‘Winter Cafe’ during the quiet session.  Some of the children got the chance to buy some nice Christmas treats and look at all the Christmas crafts! In class we have been doing some baking for Christmas and lots of Christmas crafts. We made a snowman, and the best part was getting to eat it at the end.

Our ESB had a fab time at Almond Valley last week. We had lots of fun playing on the trampolines, toboggans, flying fox and slides. We loved the sand and went on a train journey! We also saw lots of lovely animals. Here are some photos of our great day out!

Some pupils in the ESB got a great opportunity to go and see a show called ‘The Unexpected Gift’.  It was delivered in a very relaxed and inclusive environment, where the children could get involved in the show in their own way.  The pupils had a great time, opening gifts, dancing to music with ribbons, watching and listening to the songs and dance routines.  The children got to play with different shaped boxes to create different sounds.  At the end paper like snow fell gently into the space.  The children loved this part of the show!

In ESB2 we have been involved in baking as part of our adaptive skills curriculum.  We made lovely apple turnovers, we worked together and chopped apples and then put them in water with sugar.  We had to spread the mixture and fold the pastry  over, they were delicious! We have been involved in planting tomatoes and beans.  We opened up the pods to look inside at the large beans.

This week our friend Janet and her Therapet Fitch came to visit both classes.   We asked Janet lots of questions and Fitch listened.  The children read Fitch a story about a new puppy.  We are looking forward to our next visit from Fitch!

The ESB had a great day on our end of term trip to Almond Valley. We all enjoyed the coach trip and had an amazing time exploring the farm. We got to visit the animals, play in the parks, jump on the trampolines, dig in the sand and went on a train ride at the farm too.
Please have a look at some photos from the day 🙂

In ESB2 we made some colourful Pysanky eggs to display in our window.  We also made the Ukrainian flag and put the eggs around it to show that we are thinking of the children in Ukraine.  We had an Easter Egg hunt and had to find eggs hidden in the playground.  We found our eggs and got a little Easter chocolate treat!
