Some pupils in the ESB got a great opportunity to go and see a show called ‘The Unexpected Gift’. It was delivered in a very relaxed and inclusive environment, where the children could get involved in the show in their own way. The pupils had a great time, opening gifts, dancing to music with ribbons, watching and listening to the songs and dance routines. The children got to play with different shaped boxes to create different sounds. At the end paper like snow fell gently into the space. The children loved this part of the show!
In ESB2 we have been involved in baking as part of our adaptive skills curriculum. We made lovely apple turnovers, we worked together and chopped apples and then put them in water with sugar. We had to spread the mixture and fold the pastry over, they were delicious! We have been involved in planting tomatoes and beans. We opened up the pods to look inside at the large beans.
This week our friend Janet and her Therapet Fitch came to visit both classes. We asked Janet lots of questions and Fitch listened. The children read Fitch a story about a new puppy. We are looking forward to our next visit from Fitch!
Our topic this term is ‘Scotland’ and we have been learning about the main cities in Scotland. We have been making our own Castles and Knights, and learning about the different types of people that lived in Castles and their roles.
In ESB2 we made some colourful Pysanky eggs to display in our window. We also made the Ukrainian flag and put the eggs around it to show that we are thinking of the children in Ukraine. We had an Easter Egg hunt and had to find eggs hidden in the playground. We found our eggs and got a little Easter chocolate treat!
ESB2 had great fun making pancakes this week!
ESB2 have been learning about the Human Body, and would like to introduce you to Frank, our body model, named by Kelvin. We did some Body drawing in our playground. We also created kilt art for Robert Burns day.
