www.teachyourmonstertoread.com

Oxford Owl – Free eBook library:

Study ladder – If you want to do reading for meaning have a look at:

https://www.studyladder.co.uk/?lc_set=

(It is free. It is full of games and activities from across the curriculum. I really like it as you will find support and challenge at your level.)

Audible – Online audio books and stories for free. Suitable for all ages and available in different languages:

https://stories.audible.com/start-listen

Scottish Book Trust – A lovely beacon of all things literacy

https://www.scottishbooktrust.com/home-activities

If you don’t like reading out loud, try using your whisper voice and read to Teddy or a pet! If you are reading to an adult, try one sentence each. If you are reading to an adult and finding the word tricky to sound out then tap the table and they can read it for you.

Spelling

Phonics Play – Letter sounds, blends and spelling games:
https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/

Bib Read and Spell – If you want to get a pen or pencil in your hand, and do some drawing and spelling then have a look at Bib Read and Spell:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUpZwOhlxXG7i5X0cp3ZWbg

Spell Mop – If you would like some support with reading common words, spelling common words or creating and imagining then have a go at Spell Mop:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpv35-gT3b2fUZZn-HzaltQ

Common Word Spelling – Fry’s first 25 words are 1/3 of all the words you commonly read or spell. Once you know the first 100 you know ½ the words that you will use regularly. Play memory games with these so that your child eventually doesn’t attempt to sound them out. Write them out again and again until they are in your child’s memory.
