We held our annual transition meeting for new P1 pupils this week.
While next year’s P1 pupils were meeting their new teachers, their parents and carers were in our gym hall, where a number of stalls had been set up by different groups connected with our school. Among the stalls were-
- Pupil Council
- After School Club
- Junior Road Safety Officers
- Breakfast Club
- French Club
- PSA
- Play Champions
- Eco- Committee
- School Uniform
We also had a range of examples of children’s work on display, with floor books and some lovely Elf Gardens from P3.
Many of the stalls were manned by Broughton pupils, and they showed great confidence in their ability to talk about their role in the school, and answer any questions.
The new P1 parents were treated to a presentation from Mrs Rushforth and Miss Bradley, full of information about the life and work of our school. They also received a welcome pack to take away, again full of important info.
The final treat was a fashion show from some very brave P1 pupils, showing off the different types of school uniform we wear at Broughton!
Huge thanks to Miss Bradley for overseeing the organisation of this event. Everything ran very smoothly! Also, we are very proud of the pupils who supervised a stall and spoke to the visiting parents and carers. Well done to you all!
