School Opening Update- Monday 5th March

Thanks so much to all the volunteers who worked hard to clear paths in our playground today!

Broughton Primary plan to be open tomorrow. If the situation should change in the meantime, parents and carers will be notified in the morning.

We’d like to advise you all to take care on the paths on your route to school. The playground still has areas of thick snow so we also ask that parents and carers talk with their children about not throwing snowballs,  unless supervised by the school staff during the school day.

We plan for breakfast club to be open as normal tomorrow.

Also, due to the snow there will be some disruption to lunch menus. All children will receive a hot meal if ordered, but lunch choices will vary so please prepare your child for this.

Lunches ordered for Wednesday – Friday last week will be cancelled so that parents and carers are not charged.

See below the information from the Catering Dept :

Dear Parent/Carer

Due to the severe weather we have been experiencing, the catering department have been unable to receive any deliveries from suppliers. Normal deliveries are not likely to return until Tuesday 6th of March.

School kitchens will be providing a meal service however due to the issues with suppliers this will vary to the advertised menu on ParentPay. Due to the change in menus, allergen information will vary to the website and we will do our upmost to ensure all usual special diets are catered for.

We are working hard to ensure kitchens are back to advertised menus as soon as possible and your support is much appreciated.

Kind regards

Catering Dept.

The staff look forward to welcoming everyone back!

Take care on your way to school tomorrow, and as always, keep an eye on our website and Twitter feeds for any developments.

Thank You
