Bookmark Competition

Bookmarks

During Book Week last term, we held a Bookmark competition. Many children created a range of lovely bookmarks to enter, and the Pupil Council had a very hard job when they judged the winners!

After deliberating long and hard, they finally came up with a winner for each of the age categories. They were…

P1-P2- Harrison Hood from P1b

P3-P4- Conor Colhoun from P4b

P5-7- Holly Bartholomew from P5a

Well done to our very talented winners! Harrison received a lovely new book, and both Conor and Holly received a Book Token! Prizes well worth entering for! Thanks also to everyone who entered- the Pupil Council had a tough job!

Here are some photos of our skillful judges, and the winning bookmarks!

Respect Me!

respectme_logo

Through discussion, during Anti-Bullying week, Primary 6a decided that respect for each other was a key element to combat bullying. We discussed and explored what respect for each other looks like and sounds like in our school. Ultimately, we created this video to share what we believe respect for each other is like at Broughton Primary School.

Well done to P6a!

The cafe raised a very respectable sum of £281!

Thanks, as always, to the PSA helpers who organised and ran the event. We must also thank the school Vice- Captains and House Captains, who helped to set up the cafe and with running stalls and serving customers. They were enthusiastic, helpful and a real credit to the school! 10 house points each!

3 girls were in the top 100 of the P7 girls event, but our best placed girl who medalled was Eilidh Noronha who was 3rd overall in the P6 girls event. Mhairi Noronha came in 17th place.

Well done to all the children who represented Broughton in a very sporting manner. You were a credit to our school!

Latest News Update

Some children at Broughton Primary School are currently off ill with vomiting and/or diarrhoea and fever. The symptoms are suggestive of viral gastroenteritis (also known as norovirus or winter vomiting disease) which is known to be currently circulating in the community. It is usually a short lived, self-limiting illness from which children recover quickly.

Broughton Primary School and NHS Lothian Health Protection Team are working together to monitor the situation. Please find a letter attached below with advice on this matter.

Thank you.
