BPS Fun Runs!

Thanks to everyone who came along to the 4th of our weekly training practices for the EMF on Sunday. Thanks to Shona Campbell and Naomi Sandilands for leading the session. A nice surprise drop in from Sandra Bagnall, who used to lead the sessions in years gone by! A good turn out and lots of kids enjoying the run!

We are keeping going over the holiday period. Both next Sunday 10th April at 10.30 am and Sunday 17th April at 10.30 am. Same venue at Pilrig Park, and as always, open to all – you don’t need to have entered the EMF to join in! Younger /older siblings are welcome, and all levels of running ability. It’s about fun and taking part!

Fundraiser for Ukraine

Good afternoon everyone,

Please see below a letter from our Pupil Council about a planned fundraiser we’d like to hold next term to support people in Ukraine.

We are planning a sponsored run/walk/skip on Friday 29th April at Craigroyston Football Pitch in St.Mark’s Park.

Each class will have an allocated time for their run. These times will be shared nearer the event.

We are aiming, as a school community, to try and reach 1435 miles, which is the distance from Leith to Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital.

Parents and Carers are invited to attend at your child’s allocated time and are welcome to run/walk/skip to help us reach our mile target.

We are aware that some children may also be collecting sponsors for the Edinburgh Marathon Festival around this time too, so please don’t feel pressurised to collect for both events. Senior pupils fasting at that time will not have to take part.

Ukraine Fundraiser Letter

Paper copies of this letter have gone home today, as there is a sponsor form attached.

Thank you for your support!

Ukraine support idea include donation tax credit, ban on Russian vodka

BPS Fun Runs

Thanks to everyone who came along to the third of our weekly training practices for the Edinburgh Marathon Festival (Sunday 27 March, 10.30 am). Thanks to Shona Campbell for leading the session and to Ivon Bartholomew for photographing the practice. Perhaps a little quieter this week. The 10.30 am start felt a little more difficult after the clocks going back the night before!

Next Sunday (Sunday 03 April, 10.30 am) same time, same place, Pilrig Park, open to all – you don’t need to have entered the EMF to join in at Pilrig Park! Younger /older siblings welcome. All levels of running ability welcome. It’s about fun and taking part!

Equalities Group Display

You may remember our Pupil Equalities Group sent a letter to parents and carers to ask about languages spoken at home. They were keen to find out how many different languages are spoken by the families in our school. They have now collated the responses, and wanted to show the results by sharing how to say ‘Hello’ in all the different languages. One of our pupils from ESB2 created the map of the world for the display background! He drew it all from memory! Their display is below!

Thanks for making the map! It’s fab!
