Young People’s Equalities Event

Last week 3 members of OPEG- Viksha, Tiyash and Elodie, attended a Young People’s Equalities Event at the City Chambers.

Only 4 schools were invited to present at the event, and we were one of them!

Our 3 pupils were a credit to us- they were confident and clear in their presenting, and they received lots of positive feedback from other schools in attendance.

As well as presenting, the children had the chance to attend a workshop where they became ‘Councillors for the day’ and looked at ways to address use of homophobic language.

It was a lovely event, and we are so proud of our pupils for sharing so well the work of OPEG this year!

Thanks to Mrs Bertram for organising all the events, and our P6 helpers for their support in setting up, scoring and tidying the infant sports event!

The annual Edinburgh Marathon Festival was held at the weekend, and as usual Broughton Primary was well represented!

We had pupils and adults running in lots of the races, and there was a lovely atmosphere around Holyrood Park as each race was run! Thankfully the weather stayed dry and there were lots of people lining the courses cheering everyone on!

Well done to everyone who took part at the weekend! We will be posting a team Broughton photo soon, with all our participants proudly sporting their EMF t-shirts and medals. Here is our photo gallery below from the weekend! The gallery can be added to, so if you have any photos you’d like to share with us, please feel free to send them to our admin account, admin@broughton-pri.edin.sch.uk
