Good afternoon everyone,
Please see below a letter from Ms Gowans about Ramadan 2022.
Thank you.

Good afternoon everyone,
Please see below a letter from Ms Gowans about Ramadan 2022.
Thank you.

Thanks to everyone who came along to the third of our weekly training practices for the Edinburgh Marathon Festival (Sunday 27 March, 10.30 am). Thanks to Shona Campbell for leading the session and to Ivon Bartholomew for photographing the practice. Perhaps a little quieter this week. The 10.30 am start felt a little more difficult after the clocks going back the night before!
Next Sunday (Sunday 03 April, 10.30 am) same time, same place, Pilrig Park, open to all – you don’t need to have entered the EMF to join in at Pilrig Park! Younger /older siblings welcome. All levels of running ability welcome. It’s about fun and taking part!
You may remember our Pupil Equalities Group sent a letter to parents and carers to ask about languages spoken at home. They were keen to find out how many different languages are spoken by the families in our school. They have now collated the responses, and wanted to show the results by sharing how to say ‘Hello’ in all the different languages. One of our pupils from ESB2 created the map of the world for the display background! He drew it all from memory! Their display is below!
Thanks for making the map! It’s fab!

Please see a message below from Ms Gowans about this year’s Comic Relief!
Comic Relief: Friday 18th March
I’d like to say a huge thank you for your support for Comic Relief last Friday. I don’t think I have ever seen so many cakes. The contributions from families were incredible and made it a fantastic event. P6b worked hard all morning serving cakes to every child in school.
P6a also worked incredibly hard in the playground making sure every child had the chance to have some fun and take part in the activities they had organised. I was so proud of our primary six pupils for their hard work and positivity throughout the morning.
We raised almost £300.00 on the morning in cash! An outstanding amount of money. In addition to that, we had £116.00 donated through ParentPay making a grand total of £416.00. Thank you all so much for your contributions – dressing your children up, giving cash and baking cakes. It was the first event like this we have had in two years and all your support made it a great success.

What a busy day we’ve had!
As well as seeing lots of lovely costumes for our dress down day, P6 organised some special events to mark our participation in Red Nose Day 2022.
P6a organised an outdoor fun session with classes from P1-P7. See some pictures below…
Meanwhile P6b ran a bake sale for all the classes in our dining hall. We were absolutely amazed by the generosity of our school! There were so many donations of delicious baking, we had lots to sell…
Huge thanks to P6 for organising these events, and thank you if you donated any baking today, or made a donation through ParentPay! We’ll let you know how much money we have raised for Comic Relief once P6 have counted up all our bake sale money and added it to the ParentPay donations!
