This week the Trinity House team led the lunchtime Art Club, and the theme was ‘Initial Art’. The children created designs within their initials, using black pen to create a range of detailed patterns. Some added a burst of colour to their designs too! Thanks to Hendeke, Elliot and Isaac for planning and organising today. Lots of fun!
Drummond House team’s turn next week! Let’s see if they can continue the success of this fab club!

Coronavirus Update-10 March 2020
Thank you.
This week we celebrated Book Week at Broughton. The school focus was on the author Julia Donaldson, and our Literacy Team planned a great week, packed with lovely activities!
We had teachers swapping classes to read to children and a House Morning where we created hats, and then paraded them for others to see! We’ve had regular Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) times, and lunchtime story sessions. We even had story times with Crumble the Jackapoo! The week ended with our Parent and Carer drop-in. We hope the children enjoyed this week, and enjoy using their Book Token to either buy one of the books below, or put towards another book!
Here are just some of the activities we’ve seen this week!
We made hats based on characters from Julia Donaldson books, and held parades!
P1a used story spoons during book week.

P2a worked on a Julia Donaldson booklet during Book Week. They also enjoyed some Gruffalo craft and reading different books.
Here are some pictures from World Book Day on Thursday.
Pupils had a lovely time reading to Crumble the Jackapoo during Book Week. She gave them lots of encouragement and enjoyment.
What a lovely week!

Today was our 3rd Parent and Carer drop-in of this session, and it was lovely to see classrooms so busy. It seemed like there were lots of Book Week activities on the go!
Following parental feedback at the end of last session, we have held our Drop-ins on different days and times this session. In order to plan our final Drop-in for this session, we’d like to hear which day/time suited best.
Please follow the link below to a very quick survey to give your feedback.
Parent and Carer Drop-In Survey
Alternatively, there are paper copies of a feedback sheet available at the school office. We’d love to hear your views.
Here are some pictures of today’s drop-in session.

This week it was Pilrig’s turn to organise lunchtime Art Club.
Their activity was practising the ‘Chalk Brush Off’ technique, and again, the captains were well organised, demonstrated well and supported the children who attended nicely.
Well done Mija, Seth, Aymen and Maya!
It’s the Trinity House captain team’s turn next week- we’ll look forward to seeing what they’ve got planned for their house!
