We have some news and pictures to share, as we approach the end of term.
Firstly, several classes have been busy making decorations over the past few weeks for our central stairwell, in the lead up to Christmas. Normally parents and carers may have been in school to see these at some point, but obviously that’s not possible at the moment. So here is a slideshow of our lovely festive stairwell!
We held our PSA school raffle yesterday, funded and supported by our Friends at Broughton, and we also announced the winners of the Sparkle Jars. In the raffle the Amazon Fire tablet was won by Aleena in P7! Other lucky winners each won a Sparkle Jar-here are our collection of Sparkle Jar entries on display!
First prize Sparkle Jar was won by Gracie Powers in P1a!

We had 4 runner up prizes, won by Adam Awadh in P2a, Ege Ozener in P3a, Rudi Fraser in P7b and Gala Knowles in P7a!

This week our House Team of captains and vice-captains organised a Christmas Quiz, which they presented over Teams. Because classes can’t get together and mix in their houses, it was decided that this would be a fun alternative to the usual House Mornings we have. There were 2 quizzes, one for P4-7 and one for P1-3. The House Team worked so hard to come up with a variety of fun and challenging rounds, and presented with confidence to our classes- well done to you all!
You may also be aware that our Art teacher, Mrs Martin, retired this week. Mrs Bertram organised a competition where each class would submit a piece for a gallery, and Mrs Martin would pick her favourite from all the entries to have framed as part of her leaving gift! Mrs Martin said it was almost impossible to pick a winner, but in the end chose Connie Williams from P7a’s piece as her favourite. Mrs Bertram also made Mrs Martin a book of all the examples of our children’s art work Mrs Martin could keep as a memento! Classes were able to visit the gallery this week, and Mrs Martin came in today to view it too- she was completely blown away by all the lovely artwork on display! Mrs Martin has been our Art teacher for 11 years, and she has taught our children so many wonderful and creative techniques across that time- our school always looks so colourful and interesting with our pupils’ creations on display! We thank Mrs Martin for all of her expertise and teaching, and wish her a long and happy retirement! Here are some pictures of the gallery.
