Nursery Interior Design Ideas

Good morning everyone!

Welcome back after a lovely snowy February break. We hope you had a good holiday, and are ready to continue with your home learning! Mrs Rushforth has an exciting opportunity to share with you all- see below…

We are very excited to announce that our new nursery building is going ahead. The design team would like to use the children’s ideas for the colours of the interiors and the names of the playrooms.
Attached is a flyer explaining what you have to do to submit your ideas and a template to get you started. We need all your suggestions by Monday 1st March.
We are very keen to make the nursery special to Broughton. Good luck and we can’t wait to see your ideas.

Hello everyone, happy Friday and happy February break to you all!

Phew! We have made it to the mid-term holiday, and what a start to the year it’s been! We are all so proud of you, and impressed with the efforts we have seen from our home learning at Broughton. We hope you have enjoyed your tasks, and also enjoyed keeping in touch with your teachers and classmates through your Teams meetings. Well done on keeping going, we have certainly earned this holiday!

We have shared another assembly with the school today, you can view it by clicking on this link- https://clickv.ie/w/Qsqp

As mentioned in assembly, next week is Safer Internet Day, on Tuesday 9th February. Although we won’t be setting any home learning that day, your teachers may have some internet safety ideas for you to do after the holiday. In the meantime, you might want to try this quiz- it’s designed for 8-13 year olds, but we’re sure anyone could have a go! Find the quiz here- https://www.saferinternet.org.uk/safer-internet-day/safer-internet-day-2021/safer-internet-day-2021-quiz

Also, next Thursday 11th February is the UN International Day of Women & Girls in Science! Dynamic Earth will be celebrating female scientists and showcasing examples of the important work that they do. They will also be showing you some exciting experiments and activities to try out at home! You can find a copy of the latest Dynamic Earth newsletter below, and can access the Dynamic Earth Online site here- https://www.dynamicearthonline.co.uk/

Finally, we held our last Parent Council and FAB meeting over Teams on 27th January. You can find the minutes of that meeting below, and they can also be found on our Parent Bodies page.

That’s all for today, this week and this half of the term!

Have a safe, relaxing and restful holiday everyone! Your first day of home learning after the holiday will be Tuesday 16th February.

Stay safe!

Greenpeace Art and Photography Competition

Greenpeace are looking for artwork showing young people’s ideas for what active transport should look like in the future. This is especially to think about what cycling, walking, wheeling and scooting could look like in our local area. They have launched an art and photography competition, and successful entries will be used in a local online campaign to highlight transport improvements, as well as winning some other prizes!

If you are interested, the poster below has more details, including how to submit entries and a closing date.

Have fun creating!
