Well, you’ve made it to the end of your first week of school closure! It’s probably been a bit of a strange week for you, but we hope you’ve been able to access lots of your home learning tasks, and have enjoyed completing them. We’d like to thank your lovely teachers for working so hard to provide all your daily updates- look out for your new Home Learning Challenge grid on Monday!
Remember our message of the importance of kindness at this time, and sharing your examples of acts of kindness with us so we can celebrate them on the website.
We also hope you’ve been able to explore some of the extra activities and websites we’ve been sharing with you each day. Remember to make sure you are checking with an adult before you search anything.

Well done everyone, for reaching the end of what may have been a challenging week for you! We hope you have all managed to access home learning successfully, but if you have any issues with this, remember that our staff and senior leadership team are just an email away, so contact us if you need any help or advice!
We’d like to thank all our nursery parents who have been uploading photos on to their child’s learning journals. P7 have also been making great use of Teams to share their learning with us, and we’re so proud of all their hard work.
If you are a parent of a child in P6, look out for an email next week with information around introducing Teams to P6.

For Parents/Carers
Good morning. We hope you are all well. As we said yesterday the Council opened 23 schools across the city yesterday to serve as Hubs – centres for children of Keyworkers. This has started with the children of category 1 parents who already attended the Hub School. A list of these schools can be found at

They had aimed to widen this today to include children of category 1 Keyworkers from across the city, however this list is substantial.
If last weekend you completed the form requesting a space at a Hub, please can you consult the PDF document below called ‘Am I a Keyworker?’ If you NO LONGER meet the criteria or require a place, please email us to let us know as soon as possible.
The Council hope to offer out places later today to parents who are category 1 Keyworkers.
Once this has happened they will move on to look at children of Keyworkers in category 2 and 3. Again I would ask that you consult the attached flowchart to see if you still meet the criteria.

Bonjour tout le monde! We hope you are all well and being really helpful at home. We are still keen for you to email us with any acts of kindness. These can include a whole range of things like tidying your bedroom, doing some dishes, carrying shopping. The list is endless.
Hopefully you are also managing to complete your learning each day and to do some of the activities on the weekly grids.

Lastly today’s act of kindness comes from Lyra in the nursery. Lyra is missing school a lot. She was hoping to draw some pretty pictures on the front step for her neighbours. She also wanted to share them with the nursery too. She’s even tried to draw the school playground, so “she doesn’t forget it”

Good morning everyone. We hope you are continuing to have a good week at home and are enjoying the activities in your Home Learning Grids. Please continue to share your acts of kindness with us so that we can share them on the website.
Many families have started to display rainbows in their window as a way of spreading hope at this difficult time (some teachers have done so too!). If you have made a rainbow and would like to email a photo to us, we will share some of these on the website. The rainbows made by school staff will be appearing on twitter in the coming days.

Good morning everyone. We hope you all had a good first day of being at home instead of school. Things have changed a little today so it’s more important than ever to be kind and helpful at home. We have had a few emails from you sharing your acts of kindness. We will share some of these over the coming days.
We wondered how many of you are exercising with Joe Wicks each morning? It’s important that we all continue to do some type of daily activity. We know that lots of our Home Learning Grids have ideas of things you can do at home.
There are now hundreds of websites offering ideas and tips to keep you busy and creative. Please make sure you are checking with an adult before you search anything.
Yesterday we launched a ‘Through the Keyhole’ challenge on our Twitter feed. An insight into the working space of staff! We had a few guesses for the photo yesterday.

I hope yesterday was not too challenging. We had a few enquiries about the home learning packs that were distributed last Friday from parents unable to collect them. I had hoped that we could deliver some over the next few days but unfortunately for now I am unable to get into the school building and need to observe the ‘stay at home’ message.
