The afternoon nursery children decided to make some banana bread for snack. They had to use their number knowledge to weigh out all of the ingredients. It was delicious!
To celebrate the end of the year, children in Nursery brought their teddies and parents along for a lovely picnic in Botanical Broughton.
Today in nursery Mrs Howarth and some of the children created our own dinosaur park in our garden to play in. Look out, these dinosaurs have a nasty bite!
In Nursery we watched five very hungry caterpillars who ate lots of mushy leaves and then made cocoons around themselves and had a wee snooze. Today they came out of their cocoons and they had turned into beautiful butterflies!
On 20 May it was World Bee Day so in the Nursery last week we celebrated our buzzy friends with an All About Bees talk. We had a Show and Tell session where the children had the chance to see Mrs Howarth’s beekeeping equipment. The children learned a bit about bees and their role and importance in our world, and the children were having fun trying on Mrs Howarth’s jacket and touching and smelling real honeycomb from one of her hives. #worldbeedayscotland
The children in Nursery planted daffodil bulbs in October and their decorated pots of daffodils were judged at the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society Spring Show at the Botanical Gardens at the weekend and received a Highly Commended award. Well done!
The children in Nursery put on a wonderful Christmas Concert. They sang songs about the Christmas Story and the audience joined in too. It was a very special festive moment and there were tears but only from the parents!
The nursery classes had great fun attending the Drum Fun and Relax Kids workshops during Health Week.
Well done to all the nursery boys and girls for taking part in their Sports Day. The sun was shining just for them as they competed in the potato and spoon, tunnel and beanbag, hoops and hurdles, space hoppers and relay races. Lots of fun was had by all!
